Sylvamo CDP Scores Improve for Second Straight Year

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Sylvamo earned high marks from CDP in 2024, improving scores in water and climate while maintaining high scores for environmental transparency and forests. 

For the second year in a row, the world's paper company received an ‘A-’ for leadership in environmental transparency and forests. Sylvamo also received a 'B’ in water security and a 'B' in climate change, showcasing the company's commitment to sustainable water management and climate emissions.  

Since first disclosing in 2022, Sylvamo’s scores have improved every year.

"I am proud of the strides we made in the last year, and appreciate these efforts being recognized by CDP.” said James McDonald, chief sustainability officer, Sylvamo. "We remain committed to transparent reporting and expect our internal and external stakeholders to continue to hold us accountable."

CDP (formerly known as The Carbon Disclosure Project) is a global nonprofit that runs the world’s largest climate and environmental disclosure system supporting companies, cities, states and regions. Scores demonstrate a company's disclosure and environmental performance, and the methodology provides a comparable dataset across the market.
