TICONDEROGA, N.Y. ‒ Sylvamo believes in the promise of paper to educate and supports childhood education in local communities.
Sylvamo’s Ticonderoga, New York, mill presented the Ticonderoga Revitalization Alliance (Ti-Alliance) a $50,000 donation to help develop a local 50-child childcare center.
The facility, expected to open in January 2024, will address a critical community need to provide childcare availability for the region and Sylvamo employees.
“This gift is indicative of Sylvamo’s commitment to the sustainability of communities where our employees live and work,” said Neki Catron, global program manager, Community Engagement.
Ti-Alliance is a nonprofit, local development corporation whose mission is to restore economic prosperity in Ticonderoga by serving as a catalyst for innovative ideas and resources, public-private partnerships and investment opportunities.
Sylvamo is playing a leading role in the project to offer stable, skilled childcare to the families of Ticonderoga.
