SAILLAT, France – Asterix, titular hero of French comic book fame, is celebrating 65 years of adventures with an elaborate feast. And thanks to a Sylvamo partnership, readers can dine alongside him.
To mark the 65th anniversary of the Asterix series, Sylvamo is partnering with prominent French publisher Hachette Livre to produce a special edition cookbook.
Following the hero in a fight against the Roman Republic, each Asterix adventure traditionally ends with a banquet. This special edition brings those meals to life.
The book, printed on Preprint E 100gr paper from Sylvamo’s Saillat, France, mill, features dish illustrations, followed by recipes curated by 40 different chefs.
The edition also supports Restaurants Du Coeur, a charity that provides food and hot meals to individuals and families with financial difficulties.
Created in 1959, the popular Asterix series follows a village of Gaulish warriors battling the Roman Empire around the world. Aided by a magic potion, Asterix and his band of fighters resist Roman occupation during Julius Caesar’s reign.
This collaboration showcases how Sylvamo aims to be the supplier of choice for customers by transforming renewable resources into papers that people depend on for education, communication and entertainment.
