MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Sylvamo celebrated its second anniversary as an independent company by completing its annual Global Day of Service focused on supporting childhood education, one of the company’s 2030 Goals.
Team members across Europe, Latin America and North America contributed nearly 300 volunteer hours and packed more than 5,800 education access kits to deliver critical school supplies to underprivileged students in local communities. This is the most successful Global Day of Service Sylvamo has hosted. Here is the impact by region:
-
Europe – 2,575 backpacks | 94 volunteers
-
Latin America – 1,530 backpacks | 89 volunteers
-
North America – 1,750 backpacks | 113 volunteers
“I am amazed at the enthusiasm of our employees around the world who want to give back to their communities,” said Neki Catron, global community engagement manager. “Our volunteer program is a powerful vehicle for creating meaningful change in local communities through the promise of paper.”
