MEMPHIS, Tenn. –  Sylvamo, the world’s paper company, is proud to announce a five-year, $1.25 million partnership with the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) to support forests throughout the Northeast United States.

Sylvamo will donate approximately $250,000 annually to support multiple NFWF grants benefiting forests across the Northeast.

Two of the grants will fund projects focusing on improving forests and directly align with Sylvamo’s goal of conserving, enhancing or restoring 250,000 acres of forestland by 2030:

• The Ruffed Grouse Society is leading a project to enhance forest resilience and diversity in northern New York and Vermont. The initiative will benefit 57,611 acres, including the 14,000-acre Paul Smith’s College campus, and local landowners by leveraging partnerships and innovative forest management practices.

• The National Audubon Society is launching a two-year project to restore upland forests in New York, Vermont and Connecticut. Utilizing the society’s Forester Training program and collaborating with conservation partners, the project aims to improve 1,050 acres of forest and engage 700 people through educational programs.

Both projects are near the company’s Ticonderoga, New York, mill.
